Heyo! Here is a full breakdown of all the work I did for the concept: Formex Construction. Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out. Disclaimer: this is a concept project and was not paid by a client.
The Problem
The construction and logistics industries are filled with dated visual identities that lack versatility and impact. FORMEX needed a brand that could cut through the noise—something bold, modern, and structurally sound. The brand had to reflect speed, precision, and innovation while maintaining trustworthiness and visual clarity across everything from hard hats to trucks.
Custom Typography
This behind-the-scenes look at FORMEX’s custom typography shows the precision and intention behind each letterform. By anchoring the design to 45° and 135° diagonals, the brand feels engineered and consistent—like a well-cut steel beam.
This angled version of the wordmark features the brand's classic 45-degree angle, as well as some contrasty shadows. It feels at home in the brand's punchy yellow background color.
This directional pattern connects with the brand's wordmark in a way that mimics construction tape and encourages the user to scan the page (directionality).
Wordmark
The Formex wordmark is punchy and modern enough to stand by itself on large machinery and storage containers. Bright yellow provides great contrast for this brand in all cases.
FORMEX's wordmark is featured prominently on shipping containers painted in the brand's signature color system.
Icons
The left icon uses layered triangles to create a tactile, interlocked "X." The center icon deconstructs the X into a clean wireframe grid. The right icon leans into bold contrast, ideal for quick recognition.
The icons pictured above represent an exploration of the brand's main mark and its construction. I've included three versions, each representing different ways the shapes can be used to not only look cool but increase visibility in some cases too.
Vehicle Wraps
These wrap designs integrate the FORMEX branding with practical layout decisions. The rear displays a QR code for easy digital access and clearly communicates the brand promise: “Fast, Professional Service.”
Seeing a brand's assets in real life is super important. In this mock-up I chose to design the vehicle wraps with a dark, modern base and an angled geometric design for detail.
Hard Hat
The FORMEX helmet carries the brand’s multifaceted motif across its shell—transforming standard gear into a bold brand statement. The mark placement ensures the logo remains visible even from a side angle, maximizing branding during real-world use.
I decided to carry the same geometric design I established previously into this hard hat design. It echoes the other brand assets while reinforcing the angled motif.
Stationery
The full suite—envelopes, cards, clipboard, and helmet—illustrates FORMEX as a cohesive, professional system. The triangle-based background repeats here in print, showing how the visual identity performs in both digital and physical contexts. Even the business card carries weight—both visually and symbolically.
To finish the marketing materials for this concept, I've included an assortment of stationery implements that all feature the brand's color system, typography, and assets.
The Solution
The FORMEX identity delivers a bold, modern system that’s instantly recognizable and highly adaptable. From gear to vehicles to digital, the brand communicates strength, precision, and speed—positioning FORMEX as a trusted leader in professional service.
